About me

My name is Monika Bargieł. I was born in 1969 in the picturesque town of Zwierzyniec in the Roztocze region of Poland – a place where nature and history blend in a unique way. Today I live in Baden-Württemberg, where I find peace, inspiration, and the opportunity to pursue my passion for painting every day.

Art was never just a hobby for me, but a quiet lifelong dream that has accompanied me for many years. From an early age, I was fascinated by natural forms, architecture, and antique furniture – their stories, their silence, their aesthetics. I often used to draw, but always on the side – until the pandemic made me pause and reflect. During that time, I returned to brush and watercolor. Since then, I have devoted myself to painting with passion and continue to develop my skills.

Watercolor painting became my preferred means of expression – it allows me to capture light, mood, and transience in a unique way. Its transparency, lightness, and depth remind me of the works of the Impressionists – especially Claude Monet. Contemporary artists such as Andre Cano and Ilya Ibreyev also inspire me.

My paintings don’t tell loud stories. They invite you to pause, awaken memories, and often touch on a quiet, personal level. If my art brings a smile, captures a mood, or offers a moment of calm, then I have achieved exactly what is close to my heart.

I love what I do – and I’m happy when my work touches people and brings them joy.

Kunstausstellung von Monika Bargieł in einer Schule.

From September 7th to 26th, 2024, I had the pleasure of presenting my watercolor works at the Comprehensive School in Osterburken.
The exhibition took place with the great support and warm-heartedness of the school principal, Bernhard Klenk – his personal commitment made this project possible.
I would like to thank the entire school community for their interest, the encounters, and the wonderful atmosphere.
